General-Purpose Instrument Enclosures are primarily used as external structural components for various industrial instruments and equipment, providing housing and protection for internal electronic components, display modules, and connection interfaces. Rather than being standardized finished products, these enclosures are mainly supplied as custom-machined parts, reflecting manufacturing experience, material knowledge, and process execution capabilities. Through previous projects, we have produced a wide range of general-purpose instrument enclosures for different application scenarios, including square, irregular, multi-cavity designs, and structures with mounting flanges. Development and production can be carried out based on customer drawings, samples, or specific functional requirements.
In terms of material selection, general-purpose instrument enclosures are primarily manufactured using zinc alloys and aluminum alloys. Zinc alloys are well suited for enclosures with complex structures and high detail requirements. Through die casting, they offer good dimensional consistency and surface formation, which supports subsequent assembly and sealing designs. Aluminum alloys provide a balanced combination of strength, lightweight properties, and corrosion resistance, making them suitable for instrument housings that require reduced weight or improved heat dissipation, while also allowing efficient secondary machining. Different alloy grades can be selected according to operating conditions and functional demands to achieve an appropriate balance between mechanical performance, machinability, and cost.
The production of general-purpose instrument enclosures typically combines die casting and CNC precision machining. Die casting is used to form the overall shape and basic structure, while CNC machining ensures accuracy for critical mounting surfaces, interface openings, and mating features. Additional operations such as drilling, tapping, and chamfering can be applied as required to meet assembly and functional needs. For surface finishing, options including powder coating, sandblasting, anodizing, and electroplating are available to improve appearance consistency and enhance wear and corrosion resistance.
